Taking Life Day by Day

As a senior in high school, my sister has been receiving news from the schools she's applied to. Watching her, good family friends, and the siblings of other friends go through the same process I went through two years ago, it brings me back to a time when the future was uncertain. I'm not saying that the future is certain right now, but when I was applying to college I was a nervous wreck: my future was completely at the mercy of the admissions board of x school. Now I'm halfway through with my sophomore year, getting ready to declare my major. In talking with a few of these kids, I think it's important for them to look at life through a new lens. Let's take life day by day. It's not important to know what school you're gonna go to, what major you're gonna major in, where you're gonna work after graduation, what grad school you're gonna attend, or what city you're gonna live in from Day One. No doubt, it's definitely important to have goals in life, but it's equally important not to let those goals dictate how you live your life.
